The Curtiss OXX-6 is an aircraft engine from the late teens. As you may guess, the engines themselves are worn out almost completely. We helped bring this one back to life with newly made parts.
Brought to us by a longtime customer, this engine needed almost all of its wear parts rebuilt. We made custom valves by cutting and grinding pre-existing valves to match the originals, and then fit them into valve guides made from scratch that we also reamed in situ. Some of the originals needed to be milled out as well. The magnetos (the OXX-6 has two, a Naval requirement at the time) also needed a refresh, which we were happy to do.
